River of Cats

I really don't know what to say...

These are the "extra" cats I'm caring for so that each can be spayed and neutered.  This will prevent an additional 40 cats next season. They've been living in the garden since April. I have to start trapping them tomorrow. Please send your good intentions to help me with this task!

Patrons at one of our favorite cafes often bring their dogs along.  This one is particularly beautiful and very well-behaved!

Collared Maggi

Maggi has had too many illnesses this year.  She now has had a ruptured cyst cleaned out and medicated and is being treated for an ear infection.  The inflatable collar that keeps her from biting, scratching, or licking her wounds is much better than the old lampshade objects used in days of yore.

In Memoriam...

Many of you have seen my previous posts of
Miss Daisy...

She has been our darling Golden Girl since she came to live with us December 8, 2002.
She was a rescue, and was approximately 5 when we got her.

On March 16, 2011 she left us to frolic in the fields of Dog Heaven...

She was our sweet Golden Girl.  The best dog either of us had ever had the pleasure of sharing life with.

She is missed.

New, Used, Dog

Here's a few recent photos of the dog we rescued in November.  She was someone's discard, but now she's part of our family.  We only know that she's somewhere between 2 and 4 years old, had not been spayed (is now), and is part Terriersomething!  Any guesses???? The foster family had already renamed her.  We couldn't risk confusing her with yet another name change, so we tweaked their name a little and renamed her Maddie May.  Over the past 30 years our last 3 dogs were all Mays ... Osa May, Effie May, Maggie May (who some of you remember), and now it's MADDIE MAY.  She's got character and has a lot to learn, but we will do the best that SHE can.
