When someone who has been your best friend and constant companion is no longer here, it's very hard to continue your daily rituals without them. I had not realized how many little unimportant things had become automatic, and unnoticed in my day to day routines with Maggie. I guess when you are retired, like I am, and spend most of your waking hours working at home, the way I do, you simply don't realize how often you are having a conversation with the dog! And so this past month, I found it very comforting to have those little conversations with her wonderful spirit.

So here's to Maggie, the good listener, the hard worker, our protector and old friend. We will miss you, but there's no way that we'll ever forget you. You are the Dog!

Our Daisy is 13 and beginning to show signs of her age...we also rescued her, in 2002...she was around 5. She's been the best dog that either of us have ever had. I know how much your Maggie is missed, as I know how much I will miss our Daisy when she moves on...

A wonderful tribute to Maggier May. I know what you are saying too. My dog, Bingo is my constant companion and we talk all the time. We have a routine for the day and i cannot imagine life with out him. MB

I understand your word so good, we lost our dog in June and our life seems not the same. Yes its hard to loose your dog, take care and maybe after a long time , you find a place in your heart, never instead of your sweet beloved Maggie, but as an own individual, maybe when the t=ime is there, for now take care and I wish you all the strenght you need, You are not alone in this. I understand. I have a young rescue, a little female terrier mix named Izzy. Her pic is on my blog, Mystical Journeys. I can't imagine her not in my life.
