Sesimbra is a small town where people really like dogs, caring for stray dogs like this one: usually pet dogs that someone abandoned (sadly, something very frequent in Portugal). The same thing occurs with cats.

Not exactly. Maybe he was abandoned, but now he lives in town, owns the streets, and there are people who provide him with water and food. Look at him, resting by a coffee shop. This place is strategic at this time in the morning, because there is a lot o people passing by to the fish and fruit market, mainly housewives, who happen to be specially sympathetic to him. Just the other day I saw him running through town, as if he was in a rush to be on time at some meeting. He has no home, but he managed to get a lifestyle. And he is friendly to everyone.

a cute dog...is there not a stray dog law in your town? they collect them here and either try to find them a home or-if not-put them down.

Yes, but, you know, it is like a concentration camp, so I think even the employees of the municipality try to bypass the law. We have a voluntary organization that takes care of these lost pets, but it cannot deal with so many cases. Some happy-endings though, like Oscar. This organization is Bianca.
